Macomb County Jail, Macomb County, Michigan
The Macomb County Jail was one of the first correctional facilities in Michigan to use a centralized computer controlled center capable of controlling the entire facility from one location. No bars are used anywhere within the jail except at the central communications area.
The 12-story structure is made up almost entirely of concrete. It supports a concrete frame with a masonry interior and brick exterior. All mechanical systems, emergency generator and smoke and fire detection systems are computer controlled.
